Frequently Asked Questions - Ceremony

Prelude

Should I have music before my ceremony?
We suggest 30 minutes of prelude music before the ceremony begins.

How do I select the prelude music? Am I required to choose the whole program?
It is not necessary for you to choose all the prelude music, unless of course you want to. Some people have specific requests and others leave it completely to us. If you would rather have the quartet choose your prelude music, simply give us an idea of the mood you wish to create.

Ceremony

How many pieces do I need for the processional?
For a Christian or non-denominational wedding, it is common to have 3 separate pieces: one for the entrance of the mothers, one for the bridal party, and one for the entrance of the bride. This will be determined by the size of the bridal party and the size of the venue. We can help you decide this if you wish.

How do you know when to start processional music?
All we need is a visual cue from your wedding coordinator. We will go over the details with them when we arrive before beginning the prelude music.

How will you time the music accomodate our entrance?
You don't have to worry about timing your entrances with the music. We are skilled at ending the pieces at the right time. The only thing we need to know is the number of people in the processional.

Can I have music during my ceremony?
During a Christian ceremony, short pieces may be played: after readings, during the lighing of the unity candle, communion, parts of the service, hymns, etc. We recommend consulting your officiant for help in choosing appropriate music.

How many pieces do I need for the recessional?
Generally, one for the wedding party to exit. One or two more can be added, depending on the number of guests.
